Nutritive value of Serbian camelina genotypes as an alternative feed ingredient

Camelina has been used from ancient times, but recently re-emerged as a valuable plant with the potential for successful replacement of conventional oilseed crops. The utilisation camelina and its by-products in animal feed is matter scientific study due to their excellent nutritional potential. present aimed investigate nutritive value two Serbian seed genotypes (NS Zlatka NS Slatka) alternative commonly crops feeding. For that purpose proximate composition, fatty acid profile, amino profile tocopherols were analysed. also included investigation content anti-nutritive compounds can adversely affect feed. results showed seeds had high amount proteins (around 28%), acids gtocopherols. characterized by unique oil consisting approximately 57% polyunsaturated acids, which highest proportions a-linolenic (~37%) linoleic (~17%).
